How TO Get The Perfect Twistout

I have gotten several requests over the past few months for getting a good twistout. So I decided to share. Since my birthday is Tomorrow I figured I’ve gotta get this hair looking good on my bday. To create this style I will be using water, Cantu Shea Butter, Au Natural Coil Moisturizing Souffle’, and a comb.

When you are looking for the perfect twistout you have to remember the best twistouts, braidouts, locouts etc, will always occur with properly moisturized hair… So be generous with your products and enjoy the beauty of bouncy shining curls.

Here are the Steps to create this versatile style

Step 1: Separate your hair. Make section sizes to your liking. I chose to alternate the sizes of the twists’ based on where they were located on my head. For example In the front I made medium and small twists, on the crown of my head I made medium to large twists.

Step 2:

Moisturize your hair with water. If you hair is already wet you can skip this step. Be the judge based on your hair texture, thickness and dryness.

Step 3:

Using a wide tooth comb detangle your hair to be sure you won’t be creating knots, or matted locked hair. *Very Important

Step 4:

Next apply your product of choice. My products of choice to create this style are Cantu Shea Butter and Au Natural Coil Moisturizing Souffle’. I moisturize each section prior to twisting the hair.

Step 5:

Now it’s time to twist or braid which ever you have chosen to do. When you reach the end of your hair, be sure to coil the ends so as not to cause breakage or snagging when it is time for takeout.

Step 6:

Let Dry! Depending on texture, thickness, fullness of your hair and twists’, your hair may take more or less than 4 hours to dry. You can wait over night to be sure.

Step 7: Untwist and enjoy! When taking your twists’ out, hold twist from the root and separate the strands. If the ends are locked rub the ends between your fingers to loosen it up. Fluff and separate to your liking.
