Saying Goodbye To Coloured Raine

A Proper Send-Off: Saying Goodbye to Coloured Raine

Y’all, let me tell you, this one hits different. If you know me, you know my makeup stash could double as a Coloured Raine museum. Baby, I’ve got 28 of their liquid lipsticks – yes, twenty-eight! I even have a few doubles in my collection. Honestly, No other brand got me like Coloured Raine did. They were the 1st brand I found out that was black owned that I had set out over the years to fully support, And let’s not forget about my two eyeshadow palettes that have been with me through thick and thin, blessing my almond eyes with the perfect pop of color every time.

When I first heard the news about Coloured Raine closing its doors, I had to sit down. Like, really sit down and process. This brand wasn’t just makeup; it was a vibe, a movement, a celebration of what we could do it we all put our hearts minds, pocketbooks and makeup brushes to it! 😉 It was for the bold ones, the ones who dared to stand out, the ones who wanted their melanin to pop unapologetically. And Coloured Raine? They gave us the tools to do just that.

Memories in Every Shade

I remember the first time I swiped on “Cherry Blossom,” one of their iconic reds of which I have 2 maybe 3 myself. Baby, I was feelin’ myself all day that day; Of course people kept stopping me to ask, “What’s that lipstick?” proudly I’d respond, “It’s Cherry Blossom by Coloured Raine, honey.” These colors didn’t just sit on your lips; they spoke, they demanded attention, telling a whole story.

And these eyeshadow palettes? Whew! When I first got The Queen Of Hearts Palette with this Valentine’s Day Look I ripped it open (gently) and got straight to business. Whether I was going for a soft glam or full-on drama, Coloured Raine had my back. They understood our tones, our hues, and how to make us shine. These palettes saw me through college classes, girls’ nights out, and even those Zoom meetings where the only thing saving me was a fierce eye look.

When I found out they were closing I RAN to the website to grab a few of my fav’s I thought I’d need to restock & While I knew they were closing it just didn’t set in until I went back after my last LAST purchase to see if I could buy the final pieces they may have had AND POOF 💨 No more products

More Than Makeup

Coloured Raine was about more than just the products. It was about representation. It was about seeing a brand that looked like us, for us. And in an industry that often sidelines us, they made sure we were front and center. They set a standard, and we’ll forever be grateful for that.

A Legacy That Lives On

Though we’re saying goodbye, Coloured Raine’s legacy lives on in every bold lip, every blended crease, and every moment we felt unstoppable because of these wonderful products. And let’s be real, these lippies and palettes I’ve got? They’re not just makeup; they’re collector’s items now. I’ll cherish them forever, and you best believe I’ll be rocking them until the very last drop.

So here’s to Coloured Raine: thank you for the memories, the confidence, and the magic you brought to our lives. You’ll always have a special place in my heart – and on my vanity.

Rest in beauty, Coloured Raine. You’ve given us so much to smile about, and we’ll never forget you. 💖
